Things To Do In
Dodge Center, MN
July is peak summer here: open swim at the pool, long evenings at the ballfields, fireworks for the Fourth, and the biggest week on the calendar when the Dodge County Free Fair rolls into nearby Kasson. Here is what is happening around town this month, plus the local parks, restaurants, churches, and family spots worth knowing.
Celebrating the Fourth
Dodge Center keeps the Fourth low-key and neighborly. For the big fireworks show, most families make the short drive to Rochester, about 20 minutes east.
Independence Day Fireworks in Rochester
Rochester’s free fireworks light up the sky over Soldiers Field on Saturday, July 4, with the display starting around 10 p.m. Experience Rochester is organizing “4th Fest: Rochester Celebrates America” with live music, food trucks, and family activities beforehand, and the Rochester Community Band plays a free July 4 concert at Cascade Lake Park. Bring lawn chairs and a blanket, leave the pets at home, and arrive early for parking.
